About Me

👋 Hey there!

I’m Zhaokun Wang, a Master’s student in Computational Linguistics at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
I’m fascinated by how language and intelligence intersect — both in how humans express ideas and how machines try to understand them.

My current interests revolve around large language models, AI-assisted software engineering, and human–computer interaction.
I enjoy turning abstract ideas into practical systems — the kind that make developers more productive, interfaces more intuitive, and AI a little more human.

🎓 M.A. Computational Linguistics, University of Heidelberg (2024 – Present)
Focus: Efficient LLM fine-tuning, multimodal learning, and interaction modeling.
I’m currently exploring how large models can be adapted and evaluated for real-world human–AI workflows.

🎓 B.Eng. Computer Science, Central South University of Forestry and Technology (2019 – 2023)
Built a solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and web application development.
Graduation project: intelligent logistics platform with NLP-based support.

Professional Experience

💻 MES Software Engineer — China S.C New Energy Technology Corporation (2023 – 2024)
Developed and maintained full-stack MES modules using TypeScript, C#, and SQL Server.
Led front-end refactoring to improve responsiveness and modularity, and built internal dashboards for workflow visualization.
Working in a fast-paced Agile team taught me how to ship reliable software without losing sight of design and maintainability.

Selected Projects

📦 Same-City Courier Delivery System
Created a real-time logistics dashboard and an NLP-powered chatbot for customer support — my first step into practical AI deployment.

🌐 Campus Web App
Built a full-stack forum with Vue.js + Node.js, featuring user management, post interaction, and live updates — a project that sparked my lasting interest in clean, accessible UI design.

Research Direction

🧠 My long-term goal is to bridge computational linguistics and applied AI engineering.
I’m especially interested in:

How LLMs can assist developers through agentic reasoning and natural interfaces.
Multimodal fusion, integrating text, vision, and structured data for grounded understanding.
Efficient adaptation — LoRA, quantization, and modular fine-tuning for resource-limited environments.
